Marana’s ready to do a lot of growing.

We looked at the facts: there are about 30,000 residents within 120 square miles of this Pima County ‘hood. It’s located off I-10. It’s spitting distance from Tucson on the way to Phoenix, so it feels like a small town, but still has big-city amenities. Incorporated in the 1970s, it still feels new and full of possibilities.

Like many places in the southwest, Marana has agricultural roots, but they’re being shed in favor of industrial, retail and residential centers. And with such a varied, good-lookin’ landscape, you can bet that golfers are eager to stake a claim in Marana’s still-available land. Just in 2007, the ‘hood began hosting the PGA Tour’s WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship.

Plans are afoot to create a town center district, with pedestrian paths, beautifully-landscaped streets and architectural flourishes.
