…worlds away from the city in just 30 miles

There was a brief time in Tennesee Williams’ life when he stayed near San Diego, eating eggs and avocados for nourishment, living off the land and wandering from place to place. Sounds peaceful, right? It was just before the breakout success of his first Broadway play, The Glass Menagerie, and though he wasn’t famous yet, imagining a day spent hoarding farm food evokes a place that is, at least, very simple.

If a more rural life is something you’ve daydreamed about, San Pasqual offers exactly that, about 30 miles from San Diego’s city center. Beautiful and serene, this area has large houses and rolling hills, open space and ostrich, citrus, dairy and avocado farms, the San Pasqual Valley Agricultural Preserve and the San Diego Wild Animal Park. Who knows? Maybe after living here, you’ll feel the urge to write a Broadway play, too.
