It wasn't the warmest of mornings in San Diego this past weekend, but that certainly didn't keep the crowds away from witnessing this intense sport. There were people from near and far racing in the regatta and even more spectators.
Cool Factor: The jumbotron the race put up so that all the fans could see the start of the race through the end up close and personal.
Cool Factor #2: The racers!!! What a work out!
Best Selling Item: The coffee. It was two cold mornings!
Winning Men's Team: University of Washington, rowing their 6K event in 5 minutes and 41 seconds
Winning Women's Team: USC, rowing in 6 minutes and 27 seconds
San Diego Crew Classic has a really cool website where you can check out the final results, times of specific colleges and even order the race DVDs online. If you check out the times, you'll see just how close the races really were.
Congrats to all participants and if you didn't make it this year, mark your calendar for next - it is a not to miss event!
