…for living among legends

Even before San Diego was San Diego, Mount Hope was around. Located in the southeastern part of the city, this community is named after the 115-acre cemetery that provides a resting place for the founding fathers, pioneers and notables of early San Diego history. It’s bordered by state route 94, a.k.a. Martin Luther King, Jr. Freeway, on the north, the 805 in the east and the 15 in the south, allowing easy access to downtown and beyond.

As for housing, there’s not a whole lot you’ll find outside of low-income opportunities. However, the cemetery is a nice place to visit, with 110 acres of history to wander. Legendary San Diegans Kate Sessions (“Mother of Balboa Park”) and Raymond Chandler (crime novelist and hard-boiler) are buried here.
