…here, life is surprisingly sweet

Driving into Lemon Grove, you may notice something a little out of the ordinary. It’s not the residents—they’re a great, diverse group. And it’s certainly not the weather, as this city claims to have the “Best Climate on Earth,” with warm, dry summers and cooler, rainier winters all tempered by the ocean breezes.

The odd thing about Lemon Grove is the ten-foot-wide fiberglass lemon sitting at 3361 Main Street that serves as a reminder of the community’s farming roots. Some towns have oral tradition, this one has citrus statues.

But don’t let the lemon,…ahem, sour your stay. Only twenty-five minutes from downtown San Diego, this community is as fun, quirky and compelling as any life-sized fruit.
