Grant Hill and Sherman Heights

…proof that character comes with age

These two communities, located in the western sector of southeast San Diego, are two of the oldest around, hearkening all the way back to the days when Ulysses S. Grant, Jr. named this area after his father. Both Grant Hill and Sherman Heights offer housing options ranging from older, well-maintained homes to apartments—not to mention great views of the city skyline.

Large ethnic and youth populations keep the area energetic. While you’re here, check out the colorful murals that decorate numerous freeway underpasses—we’ll take the free public art any day.
