Known as “the Hill” by locals, Del Cerro sits up high, affording views of sailing ships in the west, and of the east county mountains in the, yes, east. Though once inhabited by a large Jewish population, most of the original residents have moved away.

Walk around and “ooh” and “ahh” at the well-kept homes and manicured lawns, or gain a little perspective from a hike to Cowles Mountain, the highest point in the city.
