Encompassing a pocketful of eclectic neighborhoods on the eastern end of Mission Valley, City Heights is enjoying a renaissance as a result of a $550 million-plus investment effort.

As a result, crime or deterioration is no longer a problem; this community is experiencing overgrowth. Diverse people from all walks of life stroll, bike or scooter around the area, and new projects are popping up all over the place: shopping malls, a Head Start program (over 100 children in 30 languages), numerous parks and mixed-use buildings and the city’s first alternative fuel station. And, though the area is quite walkable, it still boasts both bus and trolley service. Is it any wonder people can’t stop moving in?
