…pretty much everything you'll need

Chula Vista (Spanish for “beautiful view") is about 15 minutes south of downtown San Diego and 7 miles from Tijuana. Though it's the second largest city in the SD metro area, this booming, ethnically-diverse city-within-a-city attracts new families who like the small downtown vibe and sense of community. But it's growing fast with affordable new residential developments (like East Lake) and businesses popping up all over.

You'll find that vacationers like to overnight in Chula Vista. It's close to Imperial Beach (and the annual Sand Castle Festival!); the Knotts Soak City USA waterpark is here, as is an outdoor farmer’s market, the harbor with fishing, camping and sightseeing, an Olympic Training Center and Nature Center's Sweetwater Marsh National Wildlife Refuge. For a music fix, get yourself over to the outdoor Coors Amphitheatre; or take advantage of the retail and restaurants both here and in nearby downtown San Diego.

If you're bored in Chula Vista, it's only 'cause you're not trying hard enough.
