…the perfect climate for boating, riding—and gambling!

The 14,000 residents of Alpine claim that they have the best weather in the country—and so did the U.S. government, which officially declared it in a survey.

Thanks to the Kumeyaay Indians, tourists and locals can gamble to their hearts content at the Viejas Casino, then spend their winnings at the brand-name Viejas Outlet stores nearby.

At an elevation of 4,000 ft., people here take advantage of the wide-open skies, blue waters and sagebrush-covered hills by hiking, horseback riding, fishing and boating—all just 30 minutes from San Diego. Also within a 30-minute drive: the Cleveland National Forest, Lake Morena and Lake Cuyamaca.

At the end of the day, this highly diverse group of residents—ranging from ranch hands to wealthy retirees to casino staff—come home to ranches, estates and smaller affordable homes.

Call it weather, call it geography, call it Lady Luck…Alpine has it all going on.
