San Bernardino…home of Mickey D’s and high culture

Whichever nickname you choose—“The Friendly City,” “City on the Move,” “The Heartbeat of Route 66,” or “BurgerTown”—San Bernardino, by any other name, is as welcoming as can be.

At great schools like San Bernardino Valley College, California State University, the ITT Technical Institute and the Art Institute of California – Inland Empire, you can earn your own nicknames, too; like “genius” or “Mr./Ms. CEO.”

Finished with school? There’s plenty to do here. Take a trip downtown to the California Theater of Performing Arts for Broadway-quality theater, catch the San Bernardino Symphony or see a concert at one of the music venues.

Yes, this is the home of the original McDonald’s, but there’s so much more to this town than milkshakes and McNuggets. Annual events and festivals, shopping and restaurants keep this city of 200,000+ “on the move.” Not to be missed, and a great source of civic pride are the public art murals on the Union Pacific overpass and support structures on the 210 Freeway.

Murals and McDonalds? We kinda like San Bernardino’s quirkiness.
