…oh-so-beautiful mountain 'hood

To visit Beaumont is to understand how it got its name, French for “beautiful mountain”—and we’re not the only ones who think so.

Established as a stopping point for 19th-century travelers who sought a route to the Pacific Ocean from the east, Beaumont’s great reputation has spread since its appearance in 1995’s How to Make an American Quilt. In 2006, the population grew by 21 percent.

Beaumont wears its fame well, and the diverse residents are down-to-earth and family-oriented. Here, you can cozy up to a close community, where the local Kiwanis Club donates to charity, people live in single-family homes and gated or golf developments and the San Gorgonio Mountains watch over the town from the north and south. Retail includes everything from a Wal-Mart Supercenter to rustic gems like the Nettie and Alice Museum of Hobbies and the Beaumont Antique Mall.

Its reputation is well earned—beautiful Beaumont is an All-American gem.
