Sun City

…worth the wait

A little over 20 miles outside Phoenix, Sun City was established in 1960 by the Del Webb Corporation as the first-of-its kind retirement community. Run like clockwork by committed volunteers and mature, responsible adults, the vibe is quiet, peaceful, created for relaxation and enjoyment. Crafts and hobbies, golf, fishing and tons of other leisure activities are plentiful; shopping and dining is nearby; the locals are respectful of each other and the community.

Here’s the catch: it’s a retirement community, right? You can’t move in until one member of the household is 55 or older, and no one under 18 is allowed permanent residency. So depending on your age, you may have to wait a while—no matter how much you beg (it’s for mature adults, remember? No whining.)
