Anaheim

• Saturday, Oct. 31 – The annual Fall Festival & Halloween Parade features games, food, crafts, live entertainment, contests and a haunted house from 10am – 9pm at the Center Street Promenade in Downtown Anaheim. (http://www.anaheimfallfestival.org/)

Costa Mesa

• Sunday, Oct. 25 – Enjoy breakfast and help support CASA in advocating the end of child abuse with Pumpkins & Pancakes from 8 – 11am at the South Coast Plaza Macy’s. (http://www.south-coast-plaza.com/)

Dana Point

• Friday, Oct. 30 – Head to the harbor to board a FREE Boo Cruise for kids complete with spooky tricks and tasty treats from 6 – 8pm (cruises run every 20 minutes). (http://www.danawharf.com/)

Fullerton

• Daily through Friday, Nov. 6 – Learn what lurks in this haunted ‘hood with the Haunted Fullerton Walking Tours leaving at 6pm from the Fullerton Museum. The tour covers about 1.5 miles in 2.5 hours. (http://www.cityoffullerton.com/depts/museum/events/haunted_walking_tours.asp)
• Various dates through Sunday, Nov. 1 – If you’re up for some real horror (and graphic violence) check out a live rendition of cult classic “Night of the Living Dead” at the Maverick Theatre. (http://www.mavericktheater.com/html/dead_09.html)

Huntington Beach

• Saturday, Oct. 31 – FREE toppings with any purchase at the Dippin’ Dots ice cream at 19742 Beach Blvd. (http://www.dippindots.com/retail/surfcity)

Newport Beach
• Saturday, Oct. 31 – Participate in a more sophisticated Hallows Eve at a Murder Mystery Dinner (plus cocktails and dancing) at the Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort at 6:30pm. Reservations required. $50 per person. (http://www.backbaybistronewportbeach.com/)

Orange

San Juan Capistrano
• Daily through Nov. 8 – Every town has a haunted house, but how many have a haunted magic show? Don’t miss the Haunted House of Illusions at Zax Studios for a mystifying Halloween experience. $5 ticket proceeds benefit the Capistrano Unified School District Foundation. Santa Ana
• Ongoing through October – Broaden your horizons to learn about the Mexican tradition of “Dia de Los Muertos” (Day of the Dead) at the Discovery Science Center exhibition of hands-on skeleton art and activities. (http://www.discoverycube.org/events.aspx?e=168)

• Sunday Oct. 25 – Attend this FREE family-friendly event and watch in awe as pumpkin growers try to break records at the Great Pumpkin Weigh-Off at the Heritage Museum from 9am – 1:30pm (last years’ winner weighed in at 1,100 lbs!) (http://www.heritagemuseumoc.org/)
