...not your average OC ‘hood

Though it’s short of “oceanfront” status by only a few miles, the majority of Laguna Niguel’s homes, businesses, and public spaces are perched high on the tops of hills or snuggled low in canyons. This tranquil quality makes the absence of a shoreline easier to bear.

It took Laguna Niguel, with its history of severe droughts and shady land deals, until the 1980s to settle down and jump on the master-planning bandwagon. But the resulting healthy business climate and economy have contributed to the community’s present population of over 60,000.

With hill-top botanical gardens, the OC Natural History Museum, a strong business base, and a short drive to the great Pacific, it’s worth being landlocked in Laguna Niguel. The gently rolling hills don’t feel at all like the rest of OC.
