…inspiring views to aspire to

Sailor/author Richard Henry Dana referred to this area as “the only romantic spot in California.”

Now, with all respect to Mr. Dana, California is a large and varied state. Maybe some parts don’t have the seven miles of coastal bluffs and rolling hills along the Pacific, and maybe they don’t have Dana Point Harbor, a man-made locale perfectly positioned for whale-watching. Maybe other parts of California don’t have Doheny State Park, a popular, 41.1-acre beach facility that offers opportunities for camping, picnicking, swimming, surfing, biking, surf-fishing, exploration… and wifi!

So, okay. There’s really no match for Dana Point — that’s why so many hotels have secured resort properties here, along with retail and restaurants. Residents, as well as the rich and famous, enjoy the Spanish-style town’s majestic views of the Pacific’s pounding surf and small touches like streetlamps that look like kerosene lamps.

We have stars in our eyes already.

Kicking Back at the Dana Point Harbor

The Dana Point Harbor is already one of the best spots in Orange County for a lazy afternoon. But, for those who have discovered the "secret beach" at the far north side of the harbor, there are few better places to enjoy everything California has to offer.
