…from dairy city to urban community

Once populated mostly by dairy cows, this little neighborhood on the northwest end of Orange County is now home to upper-middle class residents and a smattering of celebrities.

Formerly called "Dairy City," the community changed its name in the 1950s to Cypress, inspired by the trees that shielded its schoolhouse from the Santa Ana winds.

The people here are active in the area’s development. The main drag, Lincoln Avenue, has been touched up with Victorian-style streetlamps, a clock tower and additional landscaping. The 600-acre International Business Center generates business and jobs in several national and international companies like Mitsubishi and Panasonic.

All in all, a nice balance of industrial and residential development has helped to make this area a convenient, good-for-you place to be.
