Oakdale is a young city with a lot of growing still going on. 2008 marked the 40th anniversary of its incorporation and it’s been on the ups ever since.

The 10 mile commute to St. Paul guarantees you’ll have some extra quality time in your life, so it’s a good thing recreatin’ is easy here. Close to the St. Croix River valley, there are lots of parks and wetlands. Next door, in Lake Elmo, you’ve got the Lake Elmo Regional Park reserve—great biking, with a mix of singletrack and grass trails through rolling forest and prairie terrain.

Every year, the Summerfest Celebration puts Oakdale on the map. With some 20,000 visitors, it’s a seriously big deal—parade, skateboard competition, classic car competition, softball tounament and family bike ride included.

But this ’hood’s not all fun and games—Oakdale’s got plans, baby! Office space, commercial buildings, residential development and a family entertainment center are all in the works. This city’s ready for whatever’s next.
