Change neighborhood to:
…where recreation opps abound
Minnesota is the land of 10,000 lakes, and, lucky for Nokomis residents, there's a gorgeous one right in their backyard.
Lake Nokomis offers canoe and bike rentals, and after those long Minnesota winters, you can channel your inner Californian at the neighborhood beach. Rather shoot 18? Head to nearby Lake Hiawatha Golf Course. And let's not forget the 2008 Life Time Fitness Triathlon is held here in the summer for both professional and amateur triathletes.
Nokomis makes up about eight 'hoods—Field, Northrop, Regina, Ericsson, Keewaydin, Minnehaha, Morris Park and Wenonah. Within these areas you'll find tree-surrounded homes built between the 1920s and 1960s, and apartments, along with newer single-family homes and also lofts.
Wherever you live, there’s super easy access to the trail system so you can walk, hike, bike and rollerblade to keep in shape. Or, for something a little less strenuous, check out Chicago Ave. for all the basics and more: yoga classes, post office, movies, groceries, bakery, lots of eateries, cafes and, of course, coffee.
