…hip and hallowed

Lowry Hill is one of Minneapolis’s oldest—and priciest—‘hoods. Many a majestic mansion sit on Lake of the Isles, which features walking trails and winter-time skating.

But just because the area is loaded with 20-room manses doesn’t mean you can’t live here, too. Many of the Victorian homes have been converted to chic condos (time to raid the bank account), and you'll find other Lowry Hill apartments and lofts, as well.

This ‘hood also boasts galleries, the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden with 11 acres of manicured greens and statues, including the "Spoonbridge and Cherry" – a giant spoon with a cherry on top, forged of aluminum, stainless steel and red paint (for the fruit, of course).

Lowry Hill also has plenty of indoor fun. Retail opps include the standards like American Eagle and the Gap, but there are many unique boutiques, too. Check out Heartbreaker to get your hands on some 7 jeans or travel back in time at Via’s Vintage where retro ‘40s tuxes and ‘60s prom gear are hotter than ever.

At night, locals hit up The Bulldog for microbrews like Young’s Double Chocolate or grab a slice at the Leaning Tower of Pizza. Now that’s amore.
