If we were to imagine one of the best days in the Twin Cities area, we’d definitely include an afternoon and evening in the
Loring Park ‘hood. Ideally, it would be a summer day, and we’d start out strolling the city streets, checking out cool
architecture like the Basilica of St. Mary and visiting the Walker Art Center for outdoor sculpture, classes, lectures and various exhibitions. That would follow with a stop at Joe’s Garage for a leisurely drink on the patio, dinner at the stately Café Lurcat and a play at the world-famous Guthrie Theater.

Of course, you could replace your drink at Joe’s Garage with appetizers at the Loring Grill, skip Café Lurcat and do dessert at 20.21, or swap the play with an outdoor film. Or change it up and go to the Red Eye Theater. Or skip everything altogether and just loll around by the lake in Loring Park.

Sound good to you? We thought so. Turn-of-the-century converted mansions and brick walk-up apartments here make it possible for you to have days like this all the time. And it’s all smack dab in the middle of the city.
