…the city that sleeps…soundly

Downtown St. Paul has a reputation for being one of the most beautiful urban areas in the Midwest, and rightly so. River views, historic buildings and the seat of the state government. Nice.

Not only is this the home of cultural attractions like the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts, the Children’s and Science museums, the St. Paul Cathedral and the State Capitol, it’s also home turf for the Minnesota Wild at the Xcel Energy Center.

The farmer’s market was on the “eat local” bandwagon long before it was a bandwagon. And come January, the Saint Paul Winter Carnival proves that a little cold and snow won’t keep Minnesotans away from a good party with 350,000 of their closest friends.

Downtown St. Paul also has a rep for rolling up the sidewalks at the end of the workday, so if you’re looking for a late-night scene, you’re better off heading to Minneapolis.

On the up side, this ’hood offers all the other benefits of downtown living—good restaurants, cool architecture, loft apartments - without the noise and congestion of nightclub-studded streets and frat boy-riddled sidewalks. Might just be the best of all possible worlds.
