Change neighborhood to:
…a Minneapolis gem
Get out your swim gear, strap on your cross-country skis or hop on your bike—when you’re in Diamond Lake, you’ve got lakes, parks and greenery galore!
This ’hood is mostly residential, and the Tudor- and colonial-style houses tell you this part of town was built in the 1920s and 30s (before the introduction of those tiny, boxy houses that showed up after World War II). Cute stores, cozy coffee shops and tasty eateries are sprinkled all over the neighborhood, just waiting to make you a regular. If you have a bigger shopping experience in mind, it’s a straight shot from here to the Mall of America (or to the airport, if you have really big shopping plans).
If you want to get out and move a bit, hit the biking and walking paths along the Minnehaha Creek. You’ve got access to miles of the city’s extensive park and trail system. (Wave to Cottontail on the Trail, the bronze bunny sculpture who lounges along the parkway.) Head for Lake Nokomis or check out Pearl Park, where there’s tons of ball playing opps.
And btw, we weren't kidding about the bunny...
