Change neighborhood to:
…the land of long-term residents
It seems people in Camden are here for the long haul. Not only did they grow up (and still live) here, but so did their parents and grandparents. That's saying something.
So…what's up in Camden? For starters, the parks—Three Rivers Park, North Mississippi and Shingle Creek Regional Ponds—have a trail system for jogging, biking and walking. In fact, stay on these trails and you'll get to Cedar, Calhoun and Harriet Lakes. The newer strip malls keep residents shopping, but in case they're looking for something extra, it's just minutes to the buzz of downtown.
You'll find that Camden is pretty much an industrial area, yet there's enough going on to keep its residents loyal. The houses are modestly priced (compared to the rest of Minneapolis), and there are vintage homes circa 1920s and 1930s. Parts of the ‘hood sit on the river, so there are plenty of good views to go around. There’s also a neighborhood revitalization plan that's converted older structures into single-family houses and multifamily town houses.
Looks like they're making room for another generation.
