Even though this area is only a couple of miles from Downtown St. Paul (remnants of graffiti still decorate parts of the 'hood…but after all, what's a city without art?), the Mississippi River, Pig’s Eye Lake and Battle Creek Regional Park all form a natural boundary that makes it feel like you’ve already left the city behind.

Far out. But not.

This ‘hood is all about access. It’s got plenty of shopping (of the chain and big box variety), the Sun Ray Shopping Center, and you’re an easy drive to the eastern ‘burbs. We love convenience.  

When you want to get out and move it, you’ve got options out the wazoo. For low impact, check out the community garden, or kick it up a notch and hit the rec center. Weekend warrior? Get over to Battle Creek Park. It’s got some of the best mountain bike trails and single track riding in the metro area, not to mention breathtaking views of the river and downtown.

Gets your heart rate up just thinking about it.
