Also known as Historic West Adams, this central-LA area was developed between 1880 and 1925, and features beautiful examples of housing styles like Queen Anne, Gothic Revival, Colonial Revival, Mission Revival. West Adams also boasts the only house designed by Greene and Greene, the famous creators of “the ultimate bungalow.”

This up and coming 'hood must be doing something right, because showbiz types are loving it here, too, using the historic homes for films and TV like CSI, Six Feet Under and Monk.

Speaking of history…just down the road at 2107 Washington Boulevard—now Ray Charles Square—is the former location of Ray Charles’ RPM studio.
