Buy a copy of a Billy Collins book of poetry – check the table of contents to make sure it includes the poem, “The Lanyard.”
Choose a nice little bookmark, something that your mother will like.
Insert the bookmark into the book at the page where the poem appears.
Have the bookstore wrap this up, if you can’t do it yourself.
Buy a card.
Sign it with love.
It’s a guaranteed win.
