South Pasadena

…a taste of the Midwest in Southern California

Established in 1888, South Pasadena has a small-town, anywhere-in-America atmosphere, with numerous trees (only a few palms!) canopying the streets. If you ask the younger residents, they might complain that the neighborhood is sleepy, but really, it’s just a friendly, quaint little town that has kept its small-town feel intact.

Though the old ostrich farm and single-screen theater that were once here have since closed up shop, you’ll still find bits of history throughout the town, like older “mom & pop” merchants that populate the business district and the Mission West area which is part of the original Route 66.
