Nicknamed the “First City of the Valley,” San Fernando’s rich cultural history dates back almost two centuries. What used to be farms and ranches around the Mission San Fernando is now a hub of commerce and manufacturing.

The city has embraced its Mexican-American heritage in numerous ways, our favorite being the celebration and expression of mariachi music in and around the streets. The municipal website proudly features the local Mariachi Master Apprentice Program, which carries on the tradition.

As you enter the city along palm-lined Brand Boulevard, it’s easy to understand the lure of this amazing, picturesque place—sweeping views of the San Gabriel foothills, friendly residents, gorgeous weather year ‘round, responsive city services, a business tax lower than LA’s and no utility tax.
