Pottery Barn Goes Green

Pottery Barn grabs a hold of the “GO GREEN” initiative with it’s latest catalogue edition.

Last night I checked my mail for the first time since the turn of ’08. My mailbox was piled deep with new catalogues, coupon savings and gym membership offers. I have to say what caught my eye the most was the latest edition of the Pottery Barn catalogue.

It is clear that this is the year Pottery Barn is making the move to take a stance on the GO GREEN effort. They now offer recycled glass containers and a “do-your-part lunch containers.” These containers are quite cute and come with a designer mug that will make it all the more hip.

Pottery Barn also gives a sneak peek of it’s behind the scene GO GREEN efforts by marketing their Recycle 100 program. On their corporate website William Sonoma Inc. says that 50% of households recycle their paper products and 60% of their customers recycle their paper products. They are hoping this initiative will increase household paper product recycling to 100%.

In an effort to give a jump-start to the initiative, they give information on how to recycle your catalogue by going to www.earth911.org.

Love where this is going.
