…much more than just the Rose Bowl

Though not far from LA, this “Crown City” has a distinctly different feel from its glitzier neighbor. A hop, skip and a jump from Hollywood (traffic permitting), Pasadena is a destination in its own right, a mini-mecca of cultural offerings, great restaurants and eclectic shops—all mixed up with a touch of academia, thanks to CalTech.

Here, you’ll find galleries, The Gamble House, Norton Simon Museum and a calendar full of live music performances at various venues throughout the area. Housing is diverse, built anywhere from the 1890s to the present, and includes condos, apartments, bungalows and Victorians.

And all that chatter? Could be the CalTech kids, or the sounds coming from the Rose Bowl Stadium, or it just might be a member of the large population of naturalized parrots found here…really! Though they’re easier to see in the winter.
