Miracle Mile

…the strip that inspired it all

Just south of Hollywood and to the west of up-and-coming Koreatown, Mid-Wilshire emerges as one of LA’s defining neighborhoods. It’s home to the city’s corner hot dog and pretzel stands, as well as the famous Miracle Mile, a.k.a., the stretch of Wilshire Boulevard that inspired this car-centric, sprawling spider of a city.

Though the Miracle Mile has many of LA’s high-rises and museums, the residential parts of this community lie to the west and north. Miracle Mile apartments and plenty of well-kept homes can be found on side streets north of Wilshire near the Hancock Park area, along with a few good blocks of shops and restaurants.

Newcomers, beware: San Vicente Boulevard’s subtle slant makes it easy to get lost here.
