Lancaster…young urban professionals, take note.

People love Lancaster.

In the last 30 years, it’s tripled in size, making it the eighth largest city in Los Angeles County and the ninth fastest-growing in the U.S. You’re probably wondering: what makes it such a great place to live?

Well, for one, the economy is strong. With Edwards Air Force Base nearby, as well as Boeing, Lockheed and Northrop plants, Lancaster provides a convenient home for thousands of employees who work to make a great living. With LA only 70 miles away, patient people commute there every day.

It’s also a young city. The median age is 31, and these residents have tons of energy to put into building their community. Organizations like the Lancaster Redevelopment Agency have helped build up the downtown area, added industrial corridors, and have brought in new retail and dining options.

There’s a Performing Arts Center, a Class A Minor-League baseball team (the Lancaster JetHawks), the typical SoCal high desert climate, offering year ‘round outdoor recreation opps like hiking and cycling, skiing and snowboarding and day trips to the coast.

Add a variety of housing options (like some great Lancaster apartments), and the annual California Poppy Festival, and what’s not to love?
