…a little taste of suburbia

Considered one of the archetypal post-World War II American suburbs, Lakewood’s vast single-story homes equipped with picket fences and tree-lined streets are hard not to notice. But with that said, suburbia is not so bad. Those late night hankerings for a Grand Slam from a Denny’s restaurant just wouldn’t be possible without the inception of planned communities.

Home to the first Denny’s, Lakewood is considered by some “an instant city”. Having gone from lima bean fields in the 50s to a well developed suburban city in the 60s, Lakewood today is a fully outfitted suburban scape ready to be tapped.
