Located directly on the coast, just south of Playa del Rey, Westchester is technically a beach community, but with a more subdued feeling than LA’s other beachside ‘hoods.

A vast array of LAX apartment communities provide students at the nearby Otis College of Art and Design with affordable housing, so you just might see some college folk out and about in this neighborhood.

The southern part of Westchester contains one of the busiest airports in the world: Los Angeles International Airport, affectionately referred to by its airport code, LAX. Noise-weary residents have successfully staved off plans for airport expansion.
