Koreatown and Wilshire Center

…up-and-coming in central LA

Part of the Mid-Wilshire region of Los Angeles, Koreatown and Wilshire Center share similarities in both population and characteristics, yet each is definitely distinct.

Koreatown has seen a dramatic revitalization since the early 2000s due to interest from Korean-Americans, middle-class Korean immigrants and hipsters who were priced out of surrounding areas.

New construction is popping up all over the place here. Buzzing with nightlife and commerce, a perfect night on the town here consists of drinks, dancing and one of the city’s best bargains: $15, all-you-can-eat Korean barbecue. (Look for apartments along Catalina Avenue - it makes it easier to get home from too much fun.)

Not to be overlooked is Wilshire Center to the north. A true urban community, those who live and work here are dedicated to creating a safe neighborhood with retail, culture, job opportunities, good schools and a clean, effective transportation system.

Just ten minutes from downtown, Hollywood and Beverly Hills, you’ll find the best of all worlds in this historically significant urban area.

Koreatown has a Walk Score of 91!
