…varied, historic, legendary.

Sure, everybody knows Hollywood, but how many people can really navigate, tell you what it’s all about, direct you to the prime areas? That’s why we’re here—to tack our knowledge onto yours.

You already know about the Walk of Fame, Mann’s Chinese Theatre (with immortalized hand and footprints), the Hollywood Bowl and Paramount Studios, etc. So this is what we’ve got:

Single-family homes, built in the 1920s, '30s and '40s, are usually available for rent, and you’ll find some Hollywood apartments of that era as well as ones built within the last few years (part of the area’s recent revitalization), ranging from the modest to the luxurious. Due to the recent makeover, rents have risen sharply, but prices are still more affordable here than in many surrounding areas.

Western Hollywood is the more residential part, while eastern Hollywood is heavy on the commercial. Both halves boast a vibe that’s young, hip, energetic—as demonstrated on strips like Melrose Avenue, where funky boutiques seem to multiply by the day.

The kids still flock to this dense, diverse area to “make it“—but they usually wind up driving north to Burbank and the Westside, where studios find more space. In spite of this, Hollywood itself is still where a lot of the action happens.

So now you know there’s a lot more to Hollywood than just that big old sign…
