Hermosa has one-and-a-half miles of the prettiest, cleanest beach in Southern California.

Okay, that’s a bold, subjective statement—but check out the facts: the average temperature is 70 degrees in the summer and 55 in the winter; gentle westerly breezes not only take the edge off excess heat, they also keep smog away. Retail is plentiful, as there are always people rollerblading, biking, skating or jogging by The Strand nearby, giving vendors reason to provide the best service and products around. By night, the area livens up with restaurants, bars and beach picnics.

Doesn’t sound bad, does it? If beach lifestyle, a young, social vibe and lots of volleyball is your idea of living (this is the beach volleyball capital of the world, after all), then this is your perfect place.

Find a pad in the hills with an ocean view or a pretty little bungalow on The Strand, then kick your shoes off for a walk on the beach. You’re home.
