If a suburban yet distinct personality is what you want when you step outside your front door, Glendale is for you. Located between Burbank and Pasadena in the San Gabriel Valley, it’s a surprisingly affordable area that offers a lively—albeit more removed—alternative to living in LA proper.

Glendale not only has its own downtown with high-rises, but also a full range of single-family homes, duplexes, fourplexes and rental properties. It’s home to the Nestle and IHOP HQs, as well as the southern campus of Dreamworks SKG. Glendale was also the chosen site for L. Ron Hubbard’s original Church of Scientology.

Think suburbia, but better.
