Just east of North Las Vegas, about 10 miles from the center of Vegas itself, lies Sunrise Mountain and the nearby neighborhoods of Sunrise Manor and the Nellis Airforce Base. You’ll find quaint, affordable apartments near Nellis Airforce Base, as well as homes with views of the Sunrise and Frenchman Mountains—both great vantage points for gazing at the bright lights below.

Of course, the Air Force Base offers great views too. As a member of the U.S. Air Force’s Air Combat Command and the home of the U.S. Air Force Warfare Center, Nellis’s main base covers over 11,300 acres which include over 150 aircraft, testing grounds, training facilities and Mike O'Callaghan Federal Hospital.

- Nellis AF Base, known as “home of the fighter pilot,” might be a good place to meet the flyboy of your dreams, if you were so inclined. (hey, we’re just saying…)
