It’s almost enough to say that the Ritz-Carlton and the Loews Lake Las Vegas Resort are both located here, but that still doesn’t capture the level of luxury found in this neo-Venice-style suburb. It doesn’t completely depict the cobblestone streets, the ubiquitous fountains or the romantic gondolas.

We don’t know how they do it, but in a city that can be overdone to the point of redundancy, this Mediterranean-inspired village strikes the right balance of upscale “theme” and authentic relaxation.

Custom homes or townhouses here are only 17 miles from the center of Las Vegas and minutes away from Lake Las Vegas, MonteLago Village and the MonteLago Village Marina, where gondolas, yachts and sailboats cruise every day. Four golf courses (two designed by Jack Nicklaus, if that’s your thing) add to the leisurely pace of this pedestrian-friendly neighborhood.

And since you’re going to be living here, you may want to get used to the proximity of outstanding galleries and upscale dining that complete the Lake Las Vegas experience.
