Centennial Center- Northwest Las Vegas’ Industry Magnet

Posted by Kirk McKnight on 3/26/2008 11:08:09 AM in Northwest Valley, neighborhood close-ups, architecture, culture

Located just west of U.S. Highway 95 and Ann Road, Centennial Center has become the center of industry for Northwest Las Vegas. Surrounded by frontage roads like Oso Blanco and Centennial Parkway, Centennial Center is situated equidistantly from its neighbors to both the east and the west. Centennial Center is also easily accessible from the I-215 Bruce Woodbury Beltway, which stretches along Centennial Center’s north end.

Centennial Center is home to dozens of businesses, including supermarkets, restaurants, and auto malls. The Centennial Auto Mall is rivaled only by its Henderson competitor, the Valley Auto Mall. With popular restaurants like Red Robin, In N’ Out, and Road Runner, Centennial Center accommodates to
hungry shoppers. The mega center is also host to retail chain giants Wal-Mart, Costco, and Sam’s Club. Adding construction-themed favorite Home Depot and
electronics superstore Circuit City to its resume, Centennial Center appears to fulfill the needs of virtually all types of shoppers.

Products, food, and cars aren’t the only things Centennial Hills provides its shoppers. Having exits which are accessible from two of the valley’s expressways makes Centennial Center a popular choice for Northwest Las Vegas residents. Prominent communities like Centennial Hills and Lamplight Estates lie east of U.S. Highway 95 just north of Centennial Center. These neighborhoods are host to community entities like Sunny Springs Park and Centennial Hills Park/YMCA. Similar neighborhoods located west of Centennial Center are Painted Desert
and Lone Mountain. These neighborhoods are home to community entities like Mountain Crest Park and Painted Desert Golf Club. Anticipating this huge growth in the northwest, Centennial High School opened in 1999. Since then, communities have exploded both west and north of Centennial High School, making the necessity of a new high school a near eventuality.

Just south of Centennial Center is Santa Fe Station Hotel and Casino. Santa Fe Station’s recent expansion and movie theater inclusion may be the cause for increased business in Centennial Center, especially for restaurant owners. Santa Fe Station is easily accessible from Centennial Center. U.S. highway 95 provides a “business loop” exit for southbound travelers, which directs them right into Santa Fe Station. Northbound travelers leaving Santa Fe Station can also conveniently access Centennial Center by way of frontage roads off of Ann Road. With convenient access from all sides, Centennial Center is sure to remain Northwest Las Vegas’ industry giant.
