What Miller and Coors United as One

Posted by krose on 10/16/2007 12:14:09 PM in LoDo, Golden, Belmar, happy hour, discussion, dive bars, entertainment

Born and bred in Wisconsin (that's me and Miller), spending half of my drinking years in Colorado (giving me an equal Coors alliance), I recently found out that Coors and Miller will become one company. I stand corrected - Molson bought Coors not too long ago making it a Molson-Miller marriage and a beer soap opera I can hardly keep up on.

Adding to the drama is my torn allegiance. Being from Wisconsin and spending half my drinking years there - I like Miller. There is nothing like enjoying a Miller High Life (the champagne of beers, if you will) with old friends on Wisconsin turf. But I can't lie, when in Colorado, a Coors is the beer of choice. Who could pass up an opportunity to drink beer made with water from the Rocky Mountains? So the dilemna is this - or wait, there is no dilemna. I now have no guilt. I can enjoy a Coors OR a Miller knowing that I am finally contributing to both my roots.

If they get divorced, now that could become a problem.

P.S. For those of you wondering, I did not taste what the Coors/Miller combo beer was like. You can though, let me know how it is.

Even with the proposed joint venture between Miller and Coors, they would only have 30% of the US beer market. Anheuser-Busch has 51%.
