...Eden had nothing on this place

Recently, this hip urban neighborhood, dappled with early 20th-century brick houses, has been even more popular because of its proximity to what's happening—business, great dining, fine art, high-end shopping and, of course the park.

Not that Denver's at a loss for parks, but this rectangular 165-acre stretch is the emerald in a crown of beautiful gems. Sure, there's green all over the city, but this one holds bragging rights to the largest flower garden, with 54 flowerbeds.

It's here in Wash Park that hundreds of Denverites walk the trails, jog, bicycle, play tennis on lighted courts…even roll a ball or two at the lawn bowling/croquet field. From June through October, there's a Farmers' Market filled with great pickings on South Pearl Street.

Smith Lake's boathouse is the place to check out a paddle boat (hence, the name) for a couple hours. Or, grab a blanket and a patch of green and people-watch the day away.
