Summer is the most popular season for moving to a new apartment or house, and thus the best season for scoring great (free!) stuff from the trash.

The US Fund for UNICEF is looking for volunteers to help with the Denver Tap Project! Volunteers are needed to launch the campaign, from working with local restaurants to doing PR/ blogging for us. It's a great opportunity to meet people if you're just moving to the area, plus you'll be a part of a fantastic campaign!

The fast approaching Democratic National Convention is bringing a lot more to Denver than just politicians, protesters and a hopeful presidential candidate. Noteworthy performers are coming together creating a week full of musical entertainment all throughout Denver. Come out and support a cause or just enjoy some great music.

During the 2008 Democratic National Convention, many cultural events will be taking place throughout Denver. Most of the DNC action takes place in Downtown Denver (like at Sculpture Park pictured above) and surrounding neighborhoods. All the events featured below are open to the public, and most are free or reasonably priced.

At a recent show at the Bluebird I snapped this photo of a message written on a bathroom stall advertisement. It reads:
ElitistHipsterSnob.com
Hipsters are douche
bags with no cause
or purpose, just total
idiots wearing American
Apparel
Who exactly is this ElitistHipsterSnob.com? And are hipsters really douche bags?

The Department of Public Works has a new snow removal plan that went into play for the first time at the end of December. According to their marketing materials, "[They] Get Your Drift." Umm, No you don't, because it's not just about getting to work or the store on time, its also about getting there alive. I would prefer not to die on my morning commute. I can't really tell when the snow plows have been around, but the price tag associated with the snow removal says they have.
