The US Fund for UNICEF is looking for volunteers to help with the Denver Tap Project! Volunteers are needed to launch the campaign, from working with local restaurants to doing PR/ blogging for us. It's a great opportunity to meet people if you're just moving to the area, plus you'll be a part of a fantastic campaign!

This Sunday, bring the whole family down to Stapleton's Central Park to witness as the area will become a flight zone once more...for kites.

I wanted to take a quick moment to update you on “DNC 2008: Celebrity Watch.” My friend at work, Rhona, and I are conducting this "watch" on our lunch breaks this week. The mission is to spot celebrities in town for the DNC. Even though it was only the first day of the convention, we kind of hit the jackpot.

During the 2008 Democratic National Convention, many cultural events will be taking place throughout Denver. Most of the DNC action takes place in Downtown Denver (like at Sculpture Park pictured above) and surrounding neighborhoods. All the events featured below are open to the public, and most are free or reasonably priced.

Finally! The people have mobilized and are getting together to speak out against the worst sports mascot ever - Dinger, who should be eliminated.

I like to think of Mickey Zeppelin, a Denver native and real estate developer, as an urbanpreneur. Denver has become the urban environment is it today - where thousands live, work and play - due much in part to the development projects that have checkered his career. As a recent Colorado Construction article states, “He built lofts in LoDo when most people had no idea what a loft was.”

Miniature replicas of the wildly popular I See What You Mean, aka the Big Blue Bear, are available for purchase at the Colorado Convention Center and the Denver Art Museum. I See What You Mean is part of Denver's Public Art Program that supports and promotes public art through out the city.
