Kid Friendly Neighborhoods in Denver

Let’s just say…you might not have to move! Kid friendly neighborhoods in Denver today are not your standard ‘burb outside of the city and outside of the character of a ‘hood you fell in love with in the first place. More and more young parents are raising their kids in Denver neighborhoods and the community is responding.

Urban villages are popping up all over Denver and filling neighborhoods with pedestrian friendly traffic, restaurants, retail, Farmers’ markets, parks and playgrounds all within blocks of each other. This village lifestyle lends to a stronger connection to your neighborhood and your neighbors! There are mommy-and-me running clubs, children’s book clubs, play dates at parks not to mention the plethora of kid friendly events that occur with each holiday.

With that being said…I’ve listed some of my favorite kid friendly neighborhoods in Denver - in no particular order:

  1. Berkeley
  2. Highlands and Jefferson Park
  3. Sunnyside
  4. Washington Park and Platt Park
  5. Park Hill
  6. Sloan Lake and Edgewater
  7. Stapleton
  8. Lowry

What are your favorite kid friendly neighborhoods in Denver?
