The Denver Tap Project Needs Volunteers

The fast approaching Democratic National Convention is bringing a lot more to Denver than just politicians, protesters and a hopeful presidential candidate. Noteworthy performers are coming together creating a week full of musical entertainment all throughout Denver. Come out and support a cause or just enjoy some great music.

During the 2008 Democratic National Convention, many cultural events will be taking place throughout Denver. Most of the DNC action takes place in Downtown Denver (like at Sculpture Park pictured above) and surrounding neighborhoods. All the events featured below are open to the public, and most are free or reasonably priced.

3rd Annual Mile High Hunt

The 3rd Annual Mile High Hunt is a wacky, fun team scavenger hunt that takes place all over LoDo. Teams compete against the clock -and each other- to solve clues and raise funds for Starlight Children's Foundation.

I like to think of Mickey Zeppelin, a Denver native and real estate developer, as an urbanpreneur. Denver has become the urban environment is it today - where thousands live, work and play - due much in part to the development projects that have checkered his career. As a recent Colorado Construction article states, “He built lofts in LoDo when most people had no idea what a loft was.”

Personally I’m hoping so and the rest of you need to hop on the Obama train with his runaway victory in Iowa he has certainly proven the critics wrong. Now it’s on to New Hampshire and soon Denver for the 2008 Democratic National Convention.
