...mutton bustin’

Just north of downtown Denver, Globeville-Elyria-Swansea is a highly industrial area thanks to its flat terrain and proximity to the metroplex and South Platte River. Many European immigrants settled here in the late 19th-century, but it remains industrialized and commercial, with sections of single-family homes sprinkled throughout.

Bodegas, churches, a firehouse, library and artistic organizations such as El Centro su Teatro coexist in cultural and ethnic harmony here. And for die-hard Denver anti-couch-potatoes, Argo Park offers a place to play baseball, softball, tennis, football or swim or maybe even relax.

Cowboys n' Girls from all over travel here for the National Western Stock Show held annually in January (it’s over 100 years old too!). The stock show is the largest of its kind, and you won't want to miss the award winning rodeo either. Giddy up!
