The 33rd annual holiday-event of Denver’s 9NEWS Parade of Lights is a tradition worth involving the entire family to see. Are Decembers in Denver cold? Yes, but worth the snot-cycles and chattering teeth. Here’s why:
The Parade of Lights route is right next to 16th and Market where the street is already strung with holiday lighting and the clock tower is painted in red and green lights. Next, there are several coffee shops nearby offering late night service to help keep everyone warm with shots of espresso and whipped-cream-topped hot chocolate. In addition, the crowd is full of oohs and ahhs due to the grand display of light-strung floats and holiday-decorated marching bands.
The Parade of Lights is an event sponsored by several well known companies such as Southwest Airlines, Wells Fargo, and DIRECTV. The biggest sponsor is 9News who hosted the entire occasion.
I highly recommend the event next year. Here is some additional information about this year's event.
